When I was a small boy I can remember Herbie Young and his wife living next door at 121 Greeves St. I can also remember their niece visiting from out of town. We would play together when she visited. We lived at 119 Greeves St in my grandparents house. This was before 1962 when my parents moved to 141 Greeves St. The Young’s house was sold and torn down to make a parking lot for the Doctor’s office next door.
Herbie moved to another part of town. His wife died before him. My mother mentioned to me that she had visited him and talked about the old days when she was volunteering to deliver meals to shut-ins.

Hi Pete! Thank you for sharing these memories! The house at 121 Greeves Street looked so impressive, it must have been incredible to see it in person.

The story of Scipio Young and his family is one of the best. It’s really neat you have a connection.
