Expecting Mothers Suggested Itinerary- 1 night in Kane
Before embarking on a day of pampering and relaxation, we highly recommend booking a room at the historic and newly renovated Kane Manor Inn. They serve a nice breakfast daily from 7:30-9:00 AM, and this will also allow you to have a private and quiet place to rest your feet or freshen up at any time.
Begin the day at Drift with an hour-long float (ask your Dr.) or Reiki session. This will ensure that you start off your day nice and relaxed. Remember to eat a small snack or breakfast before your session.
Then enjoy brunch at The Barrel House restaurant, which is located right beside Drift. (Some sources say that eating before an ultrasound helps “wake the baby up”, but they do have a mind of their own!)
With that in mind, your next stop will be with Lacy at Beautiful Beginnings Imaging for an OB ultrasound. Here you can also find maternity shirts, baby clothes, stuffed animals that can record a baby’s heartbeat for a forever keepsake, natural soaps, and much more!
Next on your agenda is a hair wash and styling. Your options of salons include The Style Station II, Penny Barber Beauty Shop, The Beauty Bar, or Untangled by Bonnie.
If you would like to have your makeup done before your maternity photo shoot, Penny at Penny Barber Beauty Shop (who is also a Mary Kay consultant) is an excellent option.
Whenever you are ready for lunch, right uptown you will find Pepe’s Pizzeria, Table 105, The Lodge, Roma Gardens, and Texas Hot. On the outskirts of town, you can also find Flickerwood Winery and CJ Spirits which serve great lunch options in a picturesque setting. Reservations are not typically required during lunch hours.
Finally, your day will conclude with a maternity photo shoot. Suggested location options include the Allegheny National Forest, Kinzua beach, or the sunflower field. Options for photographers include Betsy Carroll Rich at Betsy Carroll Photography, Megan Harris at Madam Rose Photography, or Alex Bond at Alex Bond Photography.
