Alumni Walking Tour- See What’s New!
Coming back to Kane for the first time in 5 years? Take the opportunity to explore all of the new businesses and developments that have taken place while you were away!
Let’s start with a walking tour itinerary:
The Crooked Hem opened in the former It’s Judi’s Place in 2021 to keep women’s fashion and accessories available here in Kane. There is something to fit everyone’s style!
Twisted Vine Winery moved to Fraley Street in the summer of 2018, and at the end of 2020, became known as The Lodge. Stop to enjoy a large selection of wines as well as upscale food.
Right next door is Table 105, owned by Riki Tanaka, which also opened in the summer of 2018. This upscale restaurant has a beautiful, modern interior and serves fresh and upscale food with a fun, classic cocktail menu.
Logyard Brewing, is a hyper-local craft brewery. The brewery itself is located on Wetmore Ave, but the taproom, which opened Thanksgiving Eve in 2018, is located right on Fraley St.
The former Moose building (and former Colonial), located at 63 Fraley Street is under construction to become the first retro-fit commercial passive house building in the nation.
Next, you will come across The Laughing Owl Press. This old-school press shop is owned by Joe and Andrea Lanich. Stop in and get some Kane swag and other goodies from their gift shop, and keep them in mind for business cards or custom invitations. Although they have been in operation for a while, they opened their new retail shop in 2019.
Two doors down in the old Roy B. Constables building is Cook’s Home Furniture. Here you will find a large selection of furniture and home accessories. Another couple of doors down are Cook’s Amish Home and The Inspiration Room, featuring beautiful Amish made furniture and an uplifting bookstore.
Located right between the two Cook’s businesses is Keystoned Cafe and Natural Shop. It offers coffee and tea as well as natural foods, lotions, health products, and much more.
Lobo Fitness opened in 2019 and is a gym that helps members meet their fitness goals. Stop in and sign up for one of their classes or ask about personal training.
At the intersection of Fraley and Greeves St is a new statue of a wolf and her pups, right next to the Depot. The wolf is modeled after the Great Plains Buffalo wolf, the same kind that Dr. McCleery brought to Kane through the 1920s-30s. Artist Bill Secunda designed this wolf and built it completely out of metal and nails.
Memorial Point at Evergreen Park has been revitalized! What really sets this apart are the seals of each military branch done in paver art. The PA National Gaurd paver is one of a kind.
Across the street located within the Hilltop Suites apartment building is Kinzua Nutrition. Stop here for great healthy shakes and loaded teas.
