Experiencing silence in community allows our souls to settle and our senses to awaken, so that we might tune in anew to God’s voice. This retreat begins with a brief time of community building and getting to know one another, before entering into silence. Throughout the retreat, we gather for morning and evening prayer daily, including holy communion, and to share meals. Each retreat participant will also meet daily one-on-one with a trained Spiritual Director, who provides a listening ear and gentle guidance for the retreat time. Retreat Leaders Companions on the Road, a group of contemplative friends, gathers to share silence in community three times each year: a two-night introduction to silence (this retreat!); a four-night “growing deeper” experience; and a seven-night experience of extended silence. Lay persons and clergy from all traditions are welcome to participate. Click here to learn more about all of the Spiritual Directors.
