BOROUGH OF KANE DEMOLITION REQUIREMENTS
All utilities must be disconnected from the structure to be demolished.
The sewer lateral must be plugged with concrete outside the foundation wall and inspected by the Borough.
All demolition debris must be taken to the landfill. Proof of disposal at the landfill is required (weigh slips turned into the Borough Office).
The foundation material and all masonry floors and footers must be
removed and disposed of.
Vacant lot shall be restored to meet the contours of the surrounding ground surfaces, smooth with no dips or humps, no ponding of water and top soil, seed and mulch shall be applied to the disturbed ground surfaces.
Upon completion the ground shall be mowable with no stones over 1”, clumps of dirt, holes, dips, humps, and no ponding of water, etc.
The contractor shall be responsible to repair any areas that did not grow grass or depressed are that have settled for one year.
Any damage to sidewalks or driveway entrances will be replaced with new by the contractor according to the Kane Borough Street & Sidewalk Ordinance, Chapter 221, Article IV.
All phases of demolition will be inspected by the Borough.
