Robin Rectenwald bio

Robin Rectenwald has always had a passion for helping organizations share their stories through marketing and PR strategies. As an account supervisor at WordWrite, a marketing and PR agency located in Pittsburgh, she manages the day-to-day activities for B2B, B2C and nonprofit accounts. Some of her work has included Kennywood, Caliente Pizza & Draft House, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh, VisitPITTSBURGH and MedExpress.

Prior to WordWrite, Robin was the director of public relations at Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania, a regional nonprofit that serves military veterans (in honor of her dad who served in Vietnam). Through a variety of communication tools, Robin shared the stories of many veterans, which led to an increase in social media followers, donors and volunteers. Her previous experience includes Jampole Communications, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Office of Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald.

Robin earned her master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University and a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Spanish from Duquesne University.

She serves as vice president on the Board of Directors for the Pittsburgh chapter of Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and is an adjunct professor at Duquesne University.

In her spare time, she likes bike, kayak and travel. She is also an honoree of this year’s Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Pittsburgh 50 Finest Class. So far, she has raised more than $8,000 with the help of her friends and family.
