Libby Bloomquist was born and raised in Kane, PA and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford with a degree in Psychology. After working with at-risk children and their families in McKean Co. for a year after graduation, she and her husband, Jody, moved south to the Washington, D.C area where they lived for 20 years.
She spent those years managing retail stores. For eight years Libby was a Store Manager and District Manager for American Eagle Outfitters followed by eight years managing stores for J. Crew. Throughout her career she earned numerous sales awards and promotions. While her career path did take a slight turn, 20 years working in retail and customer service allowed her to build lasting relationships and mentor hundreds of youth whom she employed.
In 2015, the Bloomquists decided to trade in the hustle and bustle of a 2 hour, 30 mile commute for a laid back, 1 traffic light life and returned to Kane to be with their family and friends. After returning to her hometown, she began looking for an opportunity that would blend her experience and her desire to help her community grow. She found the perfect fit with the PA Wilds Conservation Shop.
The PA Wilds Conservation Shop at Kinzua Bridge State Park is a unique gift shop featuring items that have been designed and hand-crafted from artisans who are members of the Wilds Cooperative of Pennsylvania. As the manager of the shop Libby has the opportunity to work closely with the artisans from design inspiration to final selection of the items that will ultimately reach the shelves. While Libby ensures that the store has the appropriate assortment, providing customer service and being a PA Wilds ambassador is the ultimate responsibility for her and her team. Kinzua Bridge State Park annually hosts over 250,000 visitors from all over the world. The gift shop allows visitors to take home a piece of the PA Wilds while the service and the ambiance of Kinzua Bridge State Park create lasting memories.
