Summer Family Fun
Kane Chamber of Commerce

The following are activities that are fit for families with children, but they are great for everyone regardless of age or family status!

The Kane Family Drive-In shows movies every weekend through the summer and fall. Most are family-friendly, but make sure you check their Facebook page or billboard beforehand in case they are showing horror movies or anything R-rated.

Evergreen Park on the south side of Fraley Street has a plethora of activities. There are two pavilions, basketball and tennis courts, and even disc golf. Pick up a set of discs and teach the kiddos how to throw a frisbee.

A somewhat hidden treasure in Kane is the Eli McCloskey Memorial Skate and Bike Park located at Glenwood Park. Bring your skateboard, scooter, or bike and meet some friends here to ride. Also at Glenwood are a small park, baseball field, and soccer field.

Another great park area is Wildcat Park in Ludlow. Wildcat offers multiple pavilions, a park area, tennis courts, wide-open green spaces, and a stream running through the park that is shallow enough to play in most areas.

Who doesn’t love ice cream? We are lucky enough to have multiple ice cream shops in Kane, including Lillian’s Place, Country Pines, Lick ‘N Sip, Bob’s Trading Post, Grandma Bair’s, and Texas Hot. If you’re looking for a healthier treat, get a shake from Kinzua Nutrition.

When thinking of The Lodge at Twisted Vine Winery you would not immediately think to bring your children here, but they do have a back room with games on two walls! Enjoy a meal and cocktail while your kids play arcade games.

Bring your bikes to the Knox-Kane Trail, or enjoy a short, mile-long hike at the Steve German Memorial Trail at the bottom of Cemetery Hill.

Friends of Twin Lakes on Route 321 has lots of space for camping, cook-outs, swimming, and hiking.

About 10 miles outside of Kane is DJ’s Russel City Store. You are able to rent ATVs here as well as fishing equipment and more. The store is open year-round and
promotes Autism awareness in the workplace.

We cannot go without mentioning that we live right on the edge of the Allegheny National Forest. There are more trails, campsites, fishing areas, and places to explore than we can mention here. Take your family outside and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery.

Make sure to check the calendar on the this website to see if there are any kid friendly events coming up at the Kane Area Community Center, Friends
Memorial Public Library, and other businesses in Kane.
