Speaker for the Homelessness Consortium meeting – Rev. David Betts from Franklin

The next meeting for the Kane Homeless Initiative will be held on Oct 31st at 10 AM in Bartlett Hall at the First United Methodist Church in Kane. We have invited the Rev David Betts, a vocational deacon with the St John’s Episcopal Church in Franklin PA. to speak to us regarding some of the work he has helped initiate. His focus is on outreach and mission work in the community. He was able to successfully establish a homeless shelter in the downtown district of Franklin despite much initial resistance and is in the process of getting a second one set up. He also has extensive experience in contractor type of work. This promises to be a very interesting and informative presentation that may further our discussions regarding homelessness in our own area. Come be a part of the conversation.
