Fraley Street). \nThanks to funding from the Collins Foundation\, we have been recording people from 24 Kane area volunteer organizations sharing their mission and passion and WHY it matters to get involved. \nThe volunteer training involves the video\, a packet with all of the volunteer opportunities and info on all the organizations\, how much volunteer time is involved for each volunteer commitment\, and great conversation with others who attend! \nThis is something we plan to do quarterly. \nThis is for:\n✅ People new to our community looking to get plugged in\n✅ Recently retired people\n✅ High schoolers who need service hours\n✅ Busy professionals who want to nurture their volunteer interests outside of work and home life\n✅ Families who want to volunteer together\n✅ Anyone who has any time or talent to give \nWe are hopeful this can help bridge the gap between willing people and volunteer organizations in our community.

DESCRIPTION:How do children grieve\, and how can we best support and empower them through loss?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Kane Area Children’s Museum organized this 1.5-hour presentation with Highmark Caring Place that will provide adults with essential insights into the nuances of childhood grief\, offering actionable strategies to effectively communicate\, comfort\, and guide children in processing their sorrow\, building healthy coping mechanisms\, and navigating a path of resilience and hope.\n\nPresenter Janet Arida is a registered nurse as well as a licensed clinical social worker. She currently works as a Senior Grief and Clinical Services Specialist at the Highmark Caring Place in Warrendale\, PA\, where she oversees peer support groups for grieving children and their families. Additionally\, in her role as Outreach and Education Coordinator\, Janet works to heighten awareness of the impact of grief on children and adults through consultations\, presentations\, and trainings for professional and community groups.\n\nIf you are in need of childcare so you can attend this event\, we have limited space available.
