In 1998 a group of Kane residents got together and developed an action plan for the community. From this initial meeting, five key projects were determined. Chambers of Commerce are at the heart of local economies. The Kane Chamber celebrates and promotes the diversity and uniqueness of our local community.  (KAIDC) works to identify, build and promote new and established businesses and industry, retail development, and tourism opportunities in the Kane area of Northwest Pennsylvania.

Chambers of Commerce are at the heart of local economies. The Kane Chamber celebrates and promotes the diversity and uniqueness of our local community. The Chamber staff and board of directors work hard to make Kane a wonderful place to live, work and play.

What is a Chamber of Commerce?

The Kane Chamber is a community and business association that works to promote local businesses, support new and existing businesses and welcome new members of the community and tourists passing through. The Chamber is open to the public and can answer questions about the local community and provide other services such as copy and faxes, maps, phone books, a friendly face and more.

How are Chambers funded?

Chambers of Commerce are funded by membership dues as well as other non-dues activities such as special events, sponsorships, fundraisers and sales of various products such as books, local videos and other items.

What programs does the Kane Chamber offer?

· Business assistance programs, such as business planning and marketing assistance.

· Visitor information about the Kane community and the region.

· Business referral service for members.

· Chamber Choice health insurance program for members.

· Copy and fax service (open to the general public).

· Leadership opportunities through sponsorship in the Leadership McKean program.

· Networking and sponsorship opportunities throughout the year.

· Chamber Chat sessions on WLMI 103.9 fm.

· Quarterly newsletter with updates and upcoming events.

· Gift certificate program, where these certificates can be used at any participating Chamber business.

· Ribbon cutting ceremony for all businesses in the community.

· Development and distribution of a local calendar. Monthly calendars are distributed monthly.
